Anthony John Redfern

The Kent Law Society is saddened to announce the death of Antony Redfern at Invicta Court, Maidstone on the 5th August 2024. He was 88 years old.
Anthony was educated at Winchester and Oriel College Oxford where he read law.
He was of an age to carry out national service and thereafter qualified as a Solicitor. He joined the firm of Kenneth Redfern and Co in Gillingham which had been established by his father before WW2.
Anthony joined his father in partnership and in 1976 the firm amalgamated with Stigant Son and Taylor to become Redfern and Stigant, then the largest firm in the Medway Towns.
Anthony specialised in commercial conveyancing and corporate law and became Secretary and then President of the Rochester, Chatham and Gillingham Law Society. He was also a member of the Kent Law Society and became its President in 1983.
On retirement Anthony had more time to tend to the beautiful garden at his home in Bearsted where he and his wife Frances kindly hosted a number of summer lunches for past Presidents of the Kent Law Society.
Anthony leaves his widow Frances, his two sons and four grandchildren
His funeral will be held at Vinters Park Crematorium, Maidstone on Friday 13 September at 2.45 pm
