President's Charity

Current President, Dr Eunice Shang-Simpson became our 206th President on 16th May 2025 when she took over from the outgoing President Scott Neilson.

This groundbreaking appointment marks several historic firsts. Eunice is the first President of Ghanaian heritage and the first person of colour to hold the role, as well as being the first Academic and first Arbitrator to hold this role.

Eunice is a Senior Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University and specialises in International Investment Law. She also holds several national and international positions as shown on her attached bio.

The President’s Charities this year are Africa in the Moot and East Kent MIND.

Her choice of Charities reflects her aims for her Presidential Year, which include supporting students wishing to pursue a career in Law, the promotion of Equality and Diversity in the Legal Profession and creating an environment that promotes and nurtures positive Mental Health for Law students and Legal Professionals.

Africa in the Moot
